Home Value Email Templates for Real Estate Agents: 6 Past Client Scripts

A home value email is the easiest reason you'll ever have to contact a past client. You're not asking for anything. You're telling them something about their biggest asset: what their home is worth and how much equity they've built.

Below are six real estate email templates you can copy today. Replace the bracketed fields, keep the tone personal, and send from your own email address.

Template 1: The Home Anniversary Email

Subject: happy [X]-year home anniversary, [First Name]

Hi [First Name],

Hard to believe it's been [X] years since you got the keys to [Street Address]. I ran an updated home value estimate and thought you'd like to see it.

Estimated market value range: [Low] to [High]

Estimated change since you bought: [+$Amount] ([+%])

No action needed. If you ever want a closer look at what this means for your plans, just reply.

[Your Name]

Template 2: The Home Value Update

A simple yearly or seasonal property value email for any past client.

Subject: your home value update, [First Name]

Hi [First Name],

I keep an eye on values around [Neighborhood], and I pulled a fresh estimate for [Street Address]: roughly [Low] to [High].

That's about [+$Amount] since you bought. Curious how that compares to what you'd expect?

[Your Name]

Template 3: The Home Equity Checkup

Best for homeowners three to seven years in, when equity has quietly built up.

Subject: your home has been busy, [First Name]

Hi [First Name],

A quick home equity update on [Street Address]. Based on recent sales nearby, your home's estimated value is now around [Value Range].

A lot of homeowners at this stage don't realize how much equity they've built. Whether that means staying put, renovating, or eventually moving, it's good to know where you stand.

Happy to walk through it anytime.

[Your Name]

Template 4: The Annual Property Review

Subject: your [Year] property review

Hi [First Name],

Once a year I send my past clients a quick property review. Here's yours for [Street Address]:

Estimated home value: [Value Range]

Change over the last 12 months: [+/- %]

Homes nearby: selling [faster / slower] than last year

If you're thinking about a renovation, refinance, or move, I'm happy to help you think it through.

[Your Name]

Template 5: The Spring Market Home Value Email

Send in late winter, before listing season.

Subject: spring market in [Neighborhood or City]

Hi [First Name],

Spring is usually the busiest season in [City], so I put together a quick look at where your home stands: estimated value [Value Range], with nearby homes selling [faster / slower] than last year.

If a move is anywhere on your radar this year, this is the right time for a no-pressure conversation. If not, enjoy the numbers.

[Your Name]

Template 6: The Past Client Reconnection Email

For clients you haven't spoken with in a while.

Subject: been a while, [First Name]

Hi [First Name],

I realized it's been too long since I checked in. I pulled an updated home value estimate for [Street Address] as a small thank-you for trusting me with your purchase: [Value Range].

Hope the house is treating you well. Reply anytime if there's anything I can help with.

Tips That Make Home Value Emails Work

  • Lower-case, short subject lines read like personal emails and get opened more.
  • Always show a value range, not a single number. It's more honest and sparks better conversations.
  • One call to action. "Just reply" beats links and forms.
  • Send from your own inbox, not a bulk email marketing tool, for better deliverability.
  • Follow up on repeat opens. A homeowner who reopens their home value email is often thinking about selling.
  1. Home anniversary email on each purchase date (Template 1, 2, or 3)
  2. Annual property review or spring market email (Template 4 or 5)
  3. Reconnection only for clients who've gone quiet (Template 6)

That's two to three meaningful touches a year, which is enough to stay remembered without wearing out your welcome.
